Torino 29/10/2011, un evento interamente dedicato alla rivoluzione post-industriale: quella digitale.
Un occasione di incontro tra i protagonisti di questa innovazione, per unire le proprie esperienze e progettare insieme il Fabbing (o Digital Fabrication) in Italia, e nello specifico immaginare un proseguimento per l'esperienza torinese.

Interverranno Riccardo Luna, curatore della mostra Stazione Futuro, Massimo Menichinelli, esperto di Digital Fabrication e OpenDesign, Massimo Banzi, co-fondatore di Arduino e del FablabItalia che presenterà lo staff del Fablab. Seguirà una presentazione delle varie attività svolte dal laboratorio di fabbricazione in questi mesi.

Il programma della giornata prevede una discussione aperta per immaginare modelli di business, tra imprenditoria e associazionismo, che si adattino alla Digital Fabrication.

I can’t sleep at night.
I keep getting asked what I’m doing at Wall Street. I’ll tell you why I’m at Wall Street as succinctly as possible. My reasons change, but at 4:37 this morning, here’s why
(Betsy’s personal top 10 + 1)

• because decent childcare costs more than I could earn working full time
• because my parents are trying to get by on Social Security
• because my public library keeps having service cuts and has to perpetually fund-raise to keep doors open
• because of the state of public education
• because of how long it will take me to pay off my student loan debt
• because of the state of the health care system
• because of the death penalty
• because of war without end
• because of climate reality
• because of gender inequality
• because of violence, abuse and neglect in its myriad forms

I don’t sleep at night, but I dream another world is possible.
And so it is.

Il rifugio torinese di Bruce Sterling è un covo pieno di oggetti, alcuni chiaramente di un passato polveroso, altri da un futuro che non è sicuro accada davvero. Sul tavolo di una colorata cucina un portatile sempre acceso, le carte le abbiamo portate noi, con una mente così brillante a disposizione non serve altro.
